Here, in the alpine landscape of Bündner Herrschaft, you find Weingut Familie Hansruedi Adank – a producer that is today considered among the most prominent in the area.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe estate has its roots in a classic farm but was converted to wine production in 1984 by Hansruedi Adank. Since 1988, the entire production has been vinified and bottled on the estate.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Family\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRezia and Hansruedi have built up the winery and continue to manage the vineyard work with great experience and a long-standing focus on selections of pinot noir, among other things.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePatrick Adank represents the next generation and plays a central role in the development of the winery today. After his education in Geisenheim and Dijon, he has gained experience with some of the most influential producers in Burgundy, including Sylvain Cathiard in Vosne-Romanée and Etienne Sauzet in Puligny-Montrachet, as well as working with Fromm in New Zealand and Bérêche in Champagne. He has also spent time with Klaus-Peter Keller in Rheinhessen.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSince 2018, he has been a clear driving force with a focused aim to create wines with depth, elegance, complexity, and great aging potential – always based on Fläsch's terroir.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGeology and Terroir\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe vineyards around Fläsch are situated on slopes with great variation in soil type and exposure. Limestone-rich soils with clay and slate elements contribute to the wine's structure and minerality, while the altitude and temperature differences between day and night ensure freshness.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Föhn wind from the Alps helps complete the ripening process, while cool mountain breezes in the evening preserve the acidity. This results in wines with both ripe fruit and vibrancy.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePhilosophy\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt Adank, they work according to the principle of \"controlled non-intervention.\" Quality is created in the vineyard, while cellar work is characterized by a gentle approach.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTime plays a central role – both in decision-making and in the wine's development – and sustainability is naturally a part of the work with a focus on living and biodiverse soils.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWork in Vineyard and Cellar\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe work follows the year's rhythm from winter pruning to the manual harvest – locally called \"wimmle.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified with minimal intervention, aiming to preserve the expression of the grapes and the terroir.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGrapes and Style\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePinot noir is the most important grape and showcases the area's strength with finesse and structure – especially in single vineyard editions.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAdditionally, the winery works with chardonnay, pinot blanc, pinot gris, and sauvignon blanc, as well as smaller amounts of merlot, syrah, and lagrein.
