Vispavola is a light, lively red wine with bright cherry fruit, violet notes, white pepper and delicate tannins, and its fresh acidity makes it a flexible companion for casual meals. It shouldn't be paired with heavy, powerful dishes, but thrives alongside charcuterie, light pasta dishes and vegetables, where the acidity cuts through fat and salt and the fruit plays off the spice. Serve it lightly chilled, so both fruit and freshness stay alive throughout the meal.

About the wine

Aromatic and spicy in an elegant, Northern Piedmontese style – fresh, juicy, and entirely unique.

100% Vespolina – a local grape from Northern Piedmont, known for its intense aroma, floral notes, and distinctive spiciness. The grapes come from vineyards in Masserano and Brusnengo, and the wine's style is light, lively, and exceptionally drinkable.

The aroma is filled with cherry, violet, white pepper, and dried herbs. The taste is crisp and light, with bright fruit, delicate tannins, and a fresh acidity, making it perfect for casual meals.

Vispavola should be enjoyed young and vibrant, but it can be stored without issues. Serve it slightly chilled – ideal for picnics, or just a glass in the sun.

The vines are planted at an altitude of 350 meters with southwest exposure and are cultivated using the classic Guyot method. The soil is porphyric sand of volcanic origin with low pH, which gives the wines from this area their fresh and mineral character. The yield is relatively moderate – 60 quintals per hectare – which suits the wine's light and straightforward style.

After selection in the vineyard, the wine is vinified without temperature control with pump-overs and délastage – where the must is drawn off and poured back over the skins for gentle extraction and aeration. The malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously, and the wine is aged for one year in stainless steel tanks to maintain its aromatic freshness.
