Here from the field Campo alla Cerqua located 400 m above sea level. South-east facing field of 0.8 ha planted in 1997.
The field is named after a large old oak tree that stands on the field.
This one is definitely the most elegant of all three single vineyard wines. The wine was presented in 2006 and has been a huge success.

The 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino Campo alla Cerqua captivates as spicy tangerine gives way to bright cherries, cloves and rubbed sage. This silky, elegant expression impresses further with a pure and lifted display of ripe red berries and inner herbal tones. It’s zesty and full of energy, even as grippy tannins take hold through the finale, with inner rose and violet florals that resonate over a tart twang of sour blackberry. The Campo alla Cerqua could be enjoyed today if paired with a rich and hearty meal, but a few years of cellaring will help it to show its best.
