Tabarrini Sagrantino di Montefalco passito DOCG 2011
Tabarrini Sagrantino di Montefalco passito DOCG 2011
An absolutely different and unique sweet wine.
The wine is the historic Sagrantino. Sagrantino has always been a sweet wine. The wine has tannins and relatively high alcohol. The sugar content in the wine is extremely high, and this means that the wine can be both sweet and at the same time high in alcohol. The wine is pure loss for the producers who make the wine the right way. 4 tons of grapes turn into 1,200 half bottles. The grapes dry approx. 3 months in a drying loft, then fermentation for more than 30 days followed by 30 months in small French barrels.
The wine can be used for cakes, but also chocolate and even a steak. The first impression of the wine is sweet, but in the mouth the sweetness disappears and it becomes dry.
Produced only for the sake of history and tradition.
