Podere Le Ripi Cappucetto Rosa Toscana Rosato IGT 2022
Podere Le Ripi Cappucetto Rosa Toscana Rosato IGT 2022
Cappuccitto Rosa (Pink Red Riding Hood), the first rosé ever produced at Podere Le Ripi
Podere Le Ripi can do something very special with their creative wine labels - they stand out! This Rosa is no exception!
From the white 'Canna Torta', which depicts a clumsy hunter, to the red 'Attenti al Lupo', which depicts a sly evil wolf, to the Cappuccitto Rosa, which depicts a young girl with a pink hood riding a flying whale, while she dreams, right under the nose of the hungry wolf.
The flying whale represents sangiovese: a generous grape, rich in Mediterranean flavors and sun, that in its best forms is able to surprise us with unexpected lightness, like a huge flying whale in the sky.
100% Sangiovese. The subsoil is marked by old river deposits, and the ground is filled with stones and rocks from galestro to alberese and granite.
Harvested last week in August.
Cappuccitto Rosa is produced by direct pressing. Only a single day of maceration with skins on. After fermentation, the wine is on cement for approximately 9 months. The many months are to ensure that the wine is naturally clarified and sedimented over time in cement.
The wine is then aged for 10-12 months in stainless steel
Cappuccitto Rosa is not what we would define as a "light" rosé.
The early-picked sangiovese grapes make the wine particularly energetic and rich in taste. Podere Le Ripi calls it "naked sangiovese".
It is more than a beautiful aperitif than a thirst quencher and it is a wine that is fantastic with food.
Best served chilled in large, attractive glasses.
