Elle is an elegant and fresh Sangiovese with distinct, yet fine-grained tannins and a mineral edge, rather than a heavy and powerful red wine. That's why it thrives best with medium-bodied dishes, where the fresh tannins meet a little richness or umami without being overwhelmed. The wine's cherry, dried flowers and light spice play beautifully against herbs, mushrooms and firm cheeses, and you get the most out of it with lightly cooked meat and poultry rather than the very heaviest braised pot dishes.

About the wine

It is made exclusively from Sangiovese from a small vineyard in Lamole – one of the highest and most unique areas in Chianti Classico. At this altitude of 540 meters, the Sangiovese grapes gain plenty of freshness, lightness, and a distinctive aromatic character.

The soil is sandy and without limestone, which yields wines with a nearly floral elegance. The grapes come from a tiny plot of just 0.45 hectares, where everything is grown organically and harvested by hand.

In the glass, you will find a wine with aromas of cherries, dried flowers, and a hint of spice.

The taste is elegant and fresh with pronounced tannins and a mineral edge, making it particularly well-suited for pairing with food. It has the potential to age well in the cellar for many years.

Fermentation takes place slowly in cement tanks, with the wine spending about 45 days with the skins, providing depth and structure without becoming heavy. It is then aged in used tonneaux barrels for 15 months and rests in the bottle for an additional year and a half before release.

Only about 1,300 bottles of this wine have been produced in this vintage.

A floral, earthy style focusing more on roots than on fruits, with aromas of dried roses, licorice and red cherries. Medium-bodied, showing soft extraction, almost silky tannins and juicy acidity.

Lean and taut, this red evokes black cherry, blackberry, earth, iron and tobacco flavors. A spine of acidity and tannins drives the length, even if this is not that generous at the moment. Offers fine mineral depth on the finish.
