Elegant Mountain Pinot Noir with Nerve and Finesse.
The Pinot Noir from Les Crêtes is a textbook example of how to make a cool, precise, and elegant red wine in the heights around La Tour d’Aymavilles in Aosta. Here, at an altitude of 650 meters, Pinot Noir is grown on steep slopes with granite-rich soil, where the alpine climate provides the grape with optimal conditions for slow maturation and great aromatic complexity.
In the glass, the wine appears ruby red with garnet tones. The aroma offers red berries—especially strawberries—along with sage and a hint of grapefruit.
The taste is elegant and balanced, with silky tannins, fresh acidity, and a mineral finish that reflects the altitude and the granite-rich soil.
Serve it in large Burgundy glasses.
It beautifully unfolds with dishes boasting rich meat flavors or umami.
The wine can certainly be stored for up to 20 years—but already tastes seductively good.
The wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir from a Burgundian clone. Harvesting is done by hand in mid-October. It is vinified exclusively in steel. After a short cold maceration, the wine is fermented at low temperatures with gentle pump-overs, then aged in large 25 hl French barrels for 12 months, followed by an additional year in the bottle.
The result is a wine with purity and depth—perfectly balanced!
