Amidst the dramatic alpine landscape in Valle d’Aosta, at the foot of Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc), lie some of Europe's highest vineyards. Here, at altitudes of up to 1,000 meters, extreme growing conditions create wines with a unique freshness, purity, and minerality.

In this harsh yet beautiful landscape, the Charrère family has built Les Crêtes over five generations - today the most renowned producer in Valle d’Aosta and a benchmark for alpine wines in Italy.

Family, continuity, and ambition

The winery is currently led by Costantino Charrère, together with his wife and daughters Elena and Eleonora. They have continued the family's legacy with great respect for the area's traditions, while continuously refining both vineyard work and vinification.

The work is characterized by curiosity and precision, where small adjustments and parcel understanding play a crucial role. The goal is not volume, but to express the extreme terroir with the greatest possible clarity.

World-class white wines

Les Crêtes is especially known for their white wines, considered among the best in Italy. The flagship Chardonnay Cuvée Bois DOC has achieved almost iconic status and is regarded as one of Italy's most convincing interpretations of chardonnay. The wine combines concentration and depth with a cool, precise structure and remarkable elegance.

Petite arvine, a local alpine grape, also plays a central role at Les Crêtes. Here, the grape exhibits salty minerality, taut acidity, and a crystal-clear expression that can only arise at high altitudes. These are wines with great energy and a clear sense of origin.

Red wines with an alpine touch

Although the white wines are the strongest, Les Crêtes also produces convincing red wines. Nebbiolo, pinot noir, and the local furmin are vinified with a focus on freshness, structure, and finesse rather than weight. The result is red wines with cool fruit, vibrancy, and a clear alpine imprint.
