Collection: Weingut Stigler

Weingut Stigler is a top German producer of fine wines from Ihringen Winkelberg in the Baden region, just a few kilometers from the Rhine and the border with France.

Weingut Stigler has vineyards on the southern tip of the ancient volcanic rock, which is known to be the warmest place in Germany.

Winklerberger's favorable location with heat-preserving and mineral-rich volcanic soil and good temperatures in the altitude meters creates a unique microclimate where the wines grow and mature fantastically. A wonderful basis for sublime wines from Spätburgunder/Pinot Noir, Weissburgunder/Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Grauburgunder/Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Sylvan.

The wines from Stigler are characterized by very high quality and a really long life. They are elegant, rich in fruit and fullness and with a ripe, lovely acid balance.

Since 1881, the family traditions have been upheld here on the farm. From the start, the ultimate goal has been to create wines of exquisite quality in good harmony with nature. Hand-picked grapes, manual work and individual vinification have been the procedure from the beginning and are still followed. This results in wines that beautifully show their individual style and clearly show the signature of both the family and the area.

The vinification takes place in a completely traditional way. Spätburgunder is fermented on skins in large open vats. All white grapes undergo soft pressing. The must is stored in casks until the sediment has slowly settled, after which the clear juice is transferred to new casks for slow and gentle fermentation to preserve all aromas.

Winemaker Maximillian and his wife Jessica have led the winery into the next generation with full enthusiasm and new good ideas. Maximilian, who is the 5th generation at the winery, has a special passion for Spätburgunder/Pinot Noir, which makes up approx. a third of the farm's wines. He is almost bottled up with wine. He is a trained oenologist from Geisenheim and has been fully involved in the winery since 2017.

Together, the young couple is now taking the family's proud traditions of winemaking in good balance with nature further - and making top quality wines from the handpicked grapes.
