This Spätburgunder is medium-bodied with fine, ripe tannins and a fresh acidity that makes it incredibly food-friendly. The juicy cherry and blackberry notes play beautifully alongside poultry and light game, while the earthy, mineral undertone from the volcanic soil echoes in mushrooms and truffle. The moderate tannin and fresh acidity cut nicely through fat and umami without dominating, and the low tannin structure makes Pinot Noir one of the most cheese-loving red wines you can choose.

About the wine
Backöfele is the name of Weingut Stigler's two small terraces on the volcanic rock, directly on the southern tip of the Winklerberg.
The aroma is delightfully fruity with typical ripe aromas of cherries and red fruits in the best combination with pepper and tobacco.
The taste is juicy and structured on the palate with fine tannins. Wonderfully balanced by the ripe, juicy cherry and blackberry notes.
Earthly and minerally influenced by the volcanic subsoil of the Vorderer Winklerberg in Ihringen.
Nice long aftertaste.
A wine with high storage potential.
