Châteauneuf-du-Pape has one of the Rhône Valley's most distinctive terroirs. The Usseglio Family

Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils is a family-owned estate in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The family has Italian roots, and the history in Rhône begins in 1931 when Francis Usseglio emigrated from Italy and settled in the area. Here he planted his first vines and established his own production under the name Terres Blanches.

In 1963, his son Raymond took over with his wife Danielle and established Domaine Raymond Usseglio. Since 1999, the next generation has continued the work under the name Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils, with a clear focus on continuity, quality, and respect for terroir.

Cultivation and biodynamics

The estate is certified organic. Work in the vineyard is based on maintaining the balance in both soil and vines, so the grapes can mature naturally and with the greatest possible expression of origin.

The biodynamic approach requires great observation and targeted care but allows for minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. The goal is to achieve such healthy and concentrated grapes that vinification can be kept simple and precise.

Vinification and style

In the cellar, there is great respect for both grape varieties and terroir. Interventions are kept to a minimum, and maturation is adapted to the individual cuvées, preserving structure, fruit, and balance.
