This Pinot Nero is medium-bodied with fresh acidity and soft, velvety tannins, and that makes it a very versatile companion. The fresh acidity and the moderate tannins meet richness and protein without dominating, so it works beautifully with light meats and dishes with earthy notes of mushrooms and truffle. The ripe red berries and the hint of cocoa harmonize with dishes of the same mild, juicy intensity, and being a Pinot Noir it is among the most cheese-friendly red wines, especially with aged sheep's and cow's milk cheeses. Stick to subdued preparations like roasting and light grilling, so the wine's elegance isn't steamrolled.

About the wine

Pinot Nero Revei from Aymavilles. The vines grow at 650 to 800 meters above sea level.

Revei means “clock” in the local dialect. The wine is named after a story about a medieval tower that stands close to the vineyard. The tower once housed a reclusive clockmaker, whose craft emphasized the value and influence of time on nature and humanity.

The color is brilliant ruby red.

The aroma is full of fruit and seductive with ripe red berries and a delicate hint of cocoa.

The taste is juicy, pleasantly acidic on the palate, with a fine structure and velvety tannins.

Impressive depth and length!

The mere 1,800 bottles in the vintage of Revei are the result of time, great experience, and patience. During production, maturation, and aging, time plays a fundamental role.

After the harvest in early October, the wine matured for 18 months in 700-liter tonneaux followed by 18 months of bottle aging.
