Les Crêtes Valle d'Aosta Chardonnay Cuvee Bois DOC 2023

The grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Aymavilles and Saint Christophe, where the old vines thrive in loose, sandy moraine soil. Here, the grapes achieve a perfect balance between the warmth of the sun and the cool mountain breezes.

The wine presents itself with a brilliant color and an intense bouquet of exotic fruits, vanilla, and a delicate note of browned butter. On the palate, it is full-bodied and warm, with mineral undertones and a fresh acidity that elegantly balances the wine's rich character.

This Chardonnay is incredibly versatile and can accompany a wide range of dishes, from flavorful pasta dishes and pies to pâtés, roasted meats, and rich cheeses. Les Cretes Cuvée Bois is considered one of Italy's best Chardonnays and admirably demonstrates the grape variety's potential when grown under optimal conditions.

The wine is produced according to organic principles but without certification, delivering an experience that is both elegant and harmonious.

The grapes undergo gentle pressing and are then fermented in French oak barrels, followed by 10 months of aging on the lees with frequent stirring (bâtonnage), which gives it a full and velvety texture. Finally, it is aged for an additional 12 months in the bottle before release, completing its refined expression.

A fantastic Chardonnay that evokes thoughts of Burgundy. Very complex, balanced, and elegant. 

This wine has a long life ahead.
