This is a classic Barolo with firm but finely polished tannin, high alcohol and plenty of power and depth. The firm tannin needs fat and protein to play against, so choose juicy, robust dishes from the oven or grill that meet the wine's fullness without disappearing. The notes of licorice, dried herbs and tobacco speak beautifully with braised meat, game and aged cheeses, while truffles and mushrooms prolong the wine's earthy, elegant aftertaste. Avoid lean fish dishes, which make the tannins seem metallic.

About the wine

Nebbiolo from the single vineyard Bricco Ambrogio in Roddi – an area in the northern part of Barolo, known for producing wines with both power and finesse.

In the glass, the wine appears classic garnet red with an orange hue at the rim. The aroma is complex and detailed with notes of ripe plums, licorice, dried herbs, and a slight tobacco hint.

The taste is intense and beautifully structured with depth and balance – the tannins are firm yet finely polished, and the aftertaste is long and elegant.

Serve at 14–16 °C – preferably after an hour of decanting if you're drinking it young.

A classic Barolo with both backbone and charm.

The grapes are hand-harvested, and the best berries are carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks over 25 days with temperature control, followed by an additional 25 days of maceration with submerged cap. The wine is then aged in large 25 hl Austrian oak barrels and allowed to rest in the bottle for 12 months before release.
