Ronc Plâtat Chardonnay DOC 2023

Elegant and fresh Chardonnay from Friuli Colli Orientali

Originates from three different vineyards in the northern part of the appellation, where the vines are between 7 and 25 years old. Here, the grapes receive optimal growing conditions and develop a beautiful balance between freshness and complexity.

The aroma opens with green apples, crushed stones, and a light herbal character with a hint of mint. On the palate, the wine appears soft and round with a well-balanced acidity that adds freshness and elegance.

The vines are planted in the classic "Ponca" soil, a mix of calcareous marl and sandstone, known for producing wines with finesse and minerality.

The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed as whole clusters, followed by fermentation in barrels, 25% of which are new. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation, contributing to its creamy texture and depth.

This Chardonnay is ideal for fish and shellfish, but its fullness and complexity also make it suitable for poultry dishes or creamy pasta dishes. Best served in large glasses without too much chilling to bring out all the nuances.
