Collection: Burgundy Aligoté

Bourgogne Aligoté is an appellation in Bourgogne in France, and it is from here that all wines under this designation come. The origin is established by law, so the name on the label comes with a very specific geographical anchoring in one of France's most classic wine regions. With us, you can therefore count on the provenance being unambiguous.

As the name suggests, the Aligoté grape plays the leading role here. The appellation is first and foremost known for its dry white wines, which in addition to Aligoté may also include grapes such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Melon de Bourgogne and Sacy. There are also red versions, and these are built on Pinot Noir, Gamay, César and Tressot. It is worth knowing that the designation thus covers both a white and a red side.

Bourgogne Aligoté is a wine that is usually drunk young. The white wines typically have an ageing potential of one to four years, while the reds can keep a little longer, around two to six years. So these are not bottles you store in the cellar for a decade. They are meant to be enjoyed while they still retain their freshness, and they suit an everyday life where a glass of wine makes a meal a little more festive.

If you are curious about Aligoté for the first time, it is a good entry point to Bourgogne beyond the most well-known appellations. The wines work both as a glass on their own and as something you put on the table for a light meal. If you want to explore the region further, it may be worth taking a closer look at our other wines from Bourgogne and from France in general, where you can get acquainted with both the white and the red sides of the region.
