The Trebbiano 2024 already showcases with the very first glass that its ambitions are on par with the rest of the portfolio—a brilliant debut for the estate's first white wine!
The color is light and clear, and the aroma opens with fresh notes of citrus, white flowers, pear, and a slight herbal mineral quality. The taste is crisp and lively with a sharp acidity, pure fruit, and an elegant texture, giving the wine its fine balance. It is a fresh and refined white wine, perfect for seafood, light fish dishes, or as a glass before the meal.
The grapes are hand-harvested on October 10th from a small Trebbiano vineyard of 0.91 hectares at an altitude of 280 meters with southeastern exposure.
After a mild winter and rainy spring, a warm, dry summer followed, with maturation extended by a cool and rainy September. The grapes were pressed as whole clusters in a vertical press, the must was cold-stabilized, and then fermented in both wooden barrels and amphora. No malolactic fermentation took place. The wine is aged for 5 months in barrels and amphora with weekly bâtonnage on the fine lees.
The result is a pure, aromatic, and elegant Trebbiano—a new and exciting chapter from Mastrojanni.
