The top wine from Mastrojanni comes from the small single vineyard Schiena d’Asino at an elevation of 385 meters, where Sangiovese thrives in clay, sand, and sandstone-rich soils with southeast to southwest exposure.

The 2020 vintage offers a dense, clear red color and an intense aroma of red fruits, balsamic, and a hint of herbs.

The taste opens powerfully and with marked structure, before transitioning into a long, elegant, and generous finish. It is a Brunello with both power and finesse, suitable for hearty dishes – Perfect for enjoying in the company of good friends.

The grapes are hand-harvested in late September and undergo 30 days of maceration. The wine ages for a full 42 months in large Allier barrels, followed by 12 months in the bottle. The result is a rare, complex, and deeply harmonious Brunello from Mastrojanni's most iconic parcel.
