An unforgettable wine adventure in Verona with Copenhagen Wine
Share
Verona was again this year the center of a Copenhagen Wine expedition in search of exceptional wines. A passionate delegation of five from our team went south in April, where they basked in up to 30 degree heat, with a clear goal in mind: To strengthen connections, discover new vintages, and not least, to expand our portfolio with new exciting wine producers .
Our wine tour began on Friday morning when we landed in Venice and were greeted by our friends Sebastian and Ugo from Podere Le Ripi and Bakkanali respectively. Together we went to the intimate ViniVeri fair. Here, among rows of organic and biodynamic wines, we tasted gems from Cascina Roccalini and Rinaldi, and also spotted some promising new candidates for our collection.
After an inspiring start, we continued to Verona, where we checked into a charming hotel. The evening was spent at Signorvino where we enjoyed exclusive drops from Bollinger, Burlotti, Rinaldi and Biondi Santi, while the city's historic monuments served as the perfect backdrop.
Saturday was dedicated to VinNatur, a fair famous for its celebration of sustainability in wine production. Here we had the pleasure of seeing familiar faces like Marino from Colleoni and new faces from Cantina Angelo, and had the opportunity to taste their newest vintages. The evening was rounded off with a dinner at Ristorante Cavour, where Walter Lodali and Tommaso Squarcia from Castello Tricerchi served their exquisite wines - a perfect accompaniment to the sublime food.
Sunday marked the opening of the prestigious Vinitaly, where more than 4,000 exhibitors from all over the world present their wines. With over 100,000 visitors, the energy was electric. We visited stands such as Podere Le Ripi, Mastrojanni and Tua Rita, and explored exciting new additions to our already impressive range. After a long day at the fair, we strolled through the streets of Verona and enjoyed a successful dinner under the stars.
On Monday morning we were up early to squeeze in the last visits to, among others, Les Cretes and Villa Diamante, before our return journey from Bergamo Airport. Every fair stand, every meeting and every tasting brought new insight and renewed enthusiasm for the world of wine.
This trip was not just a business trip; it was a feast for the senses and a reminder of why we love what we do. We are already looking forward to next year's "Verona adventure". Until then, we at Copenhagen Wine will continue to bring a bit of the magic of Italy to wine lovers in Denmark.
