This Brunello di Montalcino is the latest addition to the high-quality wines from Castello Tricerchi. The castle was founded in the year 1441.
Tommaso has outdone himself with this full-bodied and elegant Brunello.
Aroma notes of black cherries and strawberries with a hint of tobacco and chocolate—as we know from the 'regular' Brunello, but this 'riserva' is more elegant and well-balanced in its expression.
The taste is smooth and lingers long on the palate.
The vineyards, Vigna del Castello and Vigna del Veloder, consist of a mix of clay and sand located at an altitude of 290 meters with a west/northwest exposure.
The vines are approximately 30 years old.
Harvest in mid-September. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 23 degrees over 90 days. The wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels of 15-20 hectoliters for 30 months.
Afterwards, the wines are aged for at least 8 months in the bottle before release.
Only 2,500 bottles produced in this vintage.
