This Brunello has a rich and juicy tannic structure in fine balance, a full body and plenty of alcohol, so it thrives best with hearty dishes, where fat and protein let the tannins settle down. Choose well-hung beef and game prepared by robust methods like grilling or slow braising, where deep flavors meet the wine's ripe cherry and plum notes and a slight touch of roasted coffee. Well-aged, firm cheeses likewise soften the tannin, while the long aftertaste keeps pace with the intensity. Avoid lean fish and eggy, mouth-coating dishes, which make the tannins seem metallic and harsh.

About the wine
Hand-harvested in mid-September.
Natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Limited addition of sulfites.
Aged on lees in Burgundy barriques for at least 3 years, with a maximum of 10% new wood.
Bottling occurs no earlier than 4 years after harvest, without any filtration.
The color is fine light ruby red.
The aroma is delicate with notes of ripe raspberries, cherries, and plums, with a hint of roasted coffee.
The taste is wonderfully consistent with a rich and juicy tannic structure in really nice balance. The aftertaste is long and seductive.
A wine that pairs well with food with deep and powerful flavors.
Really fine craftsmanship with a long lifespan!

Vinous
The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is a vibrant spice box on the nose, mixing cloves and cinnamon sticks with cherry sauce and cedar shavings. This displays textures of pure silk elevated by cool-toned acidity as notes of red plum and sour cherry mix over a saturation of minerality and fine tannins that form toward the close. It finishes with impressive length and structure, yet with a fantastic balance and poise, leaving hints of sage and blood orange to linger on.

Tactile, long, elegant and the oak has added glamour.
