Even though the bottle says rosé, this one behaves like a light, elegant red wine from Burgundy, with Pinot Noir's red fruit, cool complexity and a hint of oak. You get a fresh acidity and a moderate, soft tannin that makes it ideal for dishes with mild richness and earthy tones without overpowering. Stick to poultry, charcuterie, mushrooms and nutty cheeses, where the cool, restrained fruit can play along instead of fighting back. Serve it with dishes of elegant, deep flavor rather than heavily grilled or strongly spiced fare.

The grapes are harvested from the steepest slopes that Domaine Alexandre Bonnet has, and subsequently produced based on classic Burgundian principles. Domaine Alexandre Bonnet has a long and proud tradition of producing Rosé des Riceys, which is one of the three AOCs in the Champagne area. Don't be fooled by the word 'rosé' - the wine is more like a classic red wine from Burgundy than a traditional rosé wine. Quite a small production of this unique and extraordinary wine.
