This Meursault has a bright, fresh profile with high acidity and mineral tautness, yet at the same time a soft core of butter and nuts without marked oak character. That makes it a versatile companion to dishes with a creamy or butter-based richness, where the acidity cuts through the fattiness and keeps the palate fresh. Stick to light to medium-bodied fish, poultry and vegetable dishes, so the wine's finesse and its citrus and herbal notes are allowed to play along without being drowned out. Serve it preferably decanted and from large glasses.

About the wine

The Premier Cru field Les Gouttes d'Or (The Golden Drops) is located in the central part of Meursault and is one of the classic cru fields in the municipality.

The field is 5.3 hectares, and distributed between several different domains. East/southeast facing. The soil consists primarily of limestone and heavy loam, which gives a nice mineral touch to the wines. It is not the most well-known field in the municipality, but it is still ranked as one of the best in Meursault.

This is a modern Meursault, where the focus is really on terroir and healthy grapes.

The color is light - slightly straw yellow, not typical for Meursault.

The scent is incredibly fresh. Great finesse with notes of fresh fruit, citrus, fresh herbs, flint and flowers. No barrel impression, but still there are notes of butter and nuts as in classic Meursault.

Super delicious already in its young years, but definitely also a wine that we will save and look forward to following and tasting through the next many years.

Feel free to decant the wine and drink it from large glasses with light fish or vegetarian dishes.
