Lodali Grappa di Barbaresco

This is a grappa distilled from the pomace left over from Barbaresco, so we're talking about a powerful, dry spirit at 42 percent with nebbiolo's spicy and lightly balsamic imprint. It's classically enjoyed as a digestif after the meal, where the warm alcohol cuts through richness and rounds off a long dinner. Serve it in small glasses at cool room temperature alongside robust, sweet or bitter flavors that can stand up to the alcohol. Think dark chocolate, roasted nuts and a strong espresso, or a piece of mature, powerful cheese for the contemplative finish.
