Lodali Lorens Giacone Barbaresco DOCG 2021

Lorens (Lorenzo in Piedmontese) - A brilliant example of how far Lodali has come in its quest for elegance and precision.

The grapes come from the estate's own vineyards in Treiso – an area known for its high altitude and calcareous soil, which gives the Nebbiolo grape both structure and finesse.

Deep garnet red color and an aroma of ripe plums, violets, and rose petals, accompanied by notes of lavender and a hint of coffee.

The taste is intense and harmonious with great structure and a long finish.

Antonio Galloni describes the 2021 vintage as “a dark, sensual wine that beautifully captures the mystery of Treiso,” calling it an expression of a significant transformation at Lodali – from somewhat heavier, deeper wines to a style that today represents purity and finesse.

Barbaresco Giacone Lorens 2021 is a wine with class and personality, ideal for game dishes, truffle dishes, or aged cheeses. Best served at 14-16 degrees, where its aromatic complexity fully unfolds.

The wine is fermented in cement tanks with temperature control for 25 days and then undergoes a further 25 days of skin contact with submerged cap – a classic Piedmontese method that enhances color, complexity, and depth. Subsequently, the wine is aged in 25hl Austrian oak barrels and matures for an additional 12 months in the bottle.

The wine has fantastic aging potential.
