Single vineyard wine from a small parcel at Taganana in the Anaga massif northeast on Tenerife. Here, old vineyards are dramatically situated between steep slopes and close to the sea, where the vines grow in a landscape shaped by volcanic activity over millions of years. It is a place characterized by heroic viticulture and one of the most distinctive terroirs on the island, where Viñátigo works with old vines of listán blanco.

The aroma is intense with citrus, white flowers, and green herbs, as well as the salty and slightly smoky minerality that is so characteristic of Tenerife. The taste is both energetic and deep with great concentration, lively acidity, and a long mineral finish, where freshness and texture balance beautifully.

The wine has structure and minerality.

Wine Advocate awards 95+ points and especially highlights the wine's distinctive personality and clear volcanic expression. Notes fine aromas of white flowers, fruit, and herbs with a marked mineral character and emphasizes the impressive balance, fine texture, and long, dry mineral finish.

The vineyard is located about 350 meters above sea level on the Anaga massif, which is one of Tenerife's oldest geological areas with volcanic soils. In several places, it can be traced back up to eleven million years. Here, the subsoil is rich in silt, clay, and volcanic stones, providing good drainage and forcing the roots deep down. The vines are planted on their own roots, many of them of high age, and are cultivated sustainably without the use of synthetic pesticides or herbicides.

The grapes are hand-harvested at the beginning of September and immediately cooled upon arrival at the cellar to preserve freshness. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with the grapes' own yeast cells in concrete tanks, after which the wine is aged for five months in French barrels. This adds extra texture and depth, while the vineyard's pure, volcanic character still stands clear in the glass.

This volcanic white wine from Tenerife has lively acidity, a salty and lightly smoky minerality and a long, dry finish, and it is precisely that freshness that makes it an obvious partner for fish and shellfish, where the acidity cuts through richness and oil and brings out the salty tones of the sea. The green herbs and citrus notes play beautifully against dishes with fresh herbs, lemon juice and good olive oil, while the fine texture from the barrel ageing gives it enough body for light meat from the grill. The volcanic, mineral character also matches dishes with earthy depth like mushrooms and fresh goat cheeses, where the wine's acidity and the cheese's acidity neutralize each other and let the flavors unfold.
