This Barbaresco has firmness in both acidity and tannin as well as a full-bodied, structured frame, and it therefore thrives best in the company of dishes that have enough richness and substance to meet the tannins. Fat and protein in roasted or braised meat soften the wine's dry, structured grip, while the persistent body matches robust preparations such as slow roasting and braising. The floral and spiced notes also suit game and mature, hard cheeses, where umami and richness play up against the wine's elegant structure. Stay away from lean fish dishes, which easily take on a metallic tone against the firm tannins.

About the wine

This Barbaresco Montefico appears as a refined and harmonious Nebbiolo that impresses with its elegant scent of roses and spices as well as a rich, dry taste with remarkable structure. It is perfect to accompany delicious food dishes or simply to enjoy in special moments.

The wine appears with a beautiful garnet red colour. The fragrance is broad and elegant with floral notes of roses and subtle spice notes that give a deep and complex aroma.
The taste is dry and full-bodied with a harmonious balance between acid and tannins, which gives it a strong and persistent structure. It has impressive storage potential and will undoubtedly develop further over time.

Serve this Barbaresco in large, attractive glasses, at a temperature of 16-18°C to highlight its complex nuances.

The grapes for this Barbaresco come from our Montefico cru vineyard in Barbaresco, where they are grown in compact soil characterized by limestone and clay. The vines face south and lie at a height of 230 to 260 meters above sea level, which gives the grapes optimal growing conditions. The wine is produced with the Guyot training system in a modified version.

After the harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and lightly crushed, after which the must is fermented on skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine is then matured in large oak casks, and after bottling it is further stored in the cellar, where silence and darkness ensure the optimal maturation process.

This shows notes of dried strawberries and cranberries with citrus peel and hibiscus undertones. Medium-bodied, vivid and fresh with chalky tannins.

Kirsch, raspberry and floral flavors highlight this juicy red, which is firm, slightly chewy even, with hints of licorice, menthol and white pepper.
