Your Barbaresco has elegant yet present tannins, juicy fruit of strawberry, cherry and dark roses along with a long, intense finish, and it calls for dishes with richness and structure. The tannins are softened by fatty proteins, so braised and slow-cooked meats in umami-rich sauces suit the wine particularly well. The fine balance and juiciness mean you can match hearty food without the wine being overpowered, while mushrooms and aged hard cheese play up against the earthy notes. Avoid very spicy and lean fish dishes, where the tannins easily become metallic or rough.

About the wine
The grapes come from the oldest vines on the Roccalini vineyard. Some of the vines are over 60 years old. The wine undergoes a very traditional long maceration, i.e., more than 45 days in classic cement tanks, and subsequently, the wine is aged for 18 months in 30 hl oak barrels from Mittelberger in South Tyrol.
The wine is typically Roccalini with a nose of strawberries, dark roses, and ripe cherries.
On the palate, there is a fantastic balance and juiciness, and the tannins are very elegant.
The finish is intense and long.
