This Chambertin Clos de Bèze is an elegant and well-balanced Pinot Noir with a medium-bodied structure, spicy and precise tannins, and a fresh acidity. It calls for dishes that match its finesse rather than overpower it, so choose tender poultry, veal, and game prepared gently, ideally with a few earthy notes from mushrooms. The wine's fresh acidity and soft tannins cut nicely through richness without turning harsh, while the light berry and licorice notes play up against mushrooms and truffle. About the wine

This plot belonged to the monks of the Bèze monastery, and vines were planted here as early as 630 AD.
The wine is referred to as the "King of Wines", and Camille Rodier noted that this one wine contained all the good qualities from the entire Burgundy area.

The domain's plot is 1.5 hectares and the vines were planted in 1949.

The Domaine's Grands Crus are matured in oak barrels (80% new barrels) made from wood from the Allier and Nivernais regions. Light to medium roasting is preferred, as this ensures the perfect harmony between the wine and the wood's tannins.

Chambertin Clos De Bèze has an intense purple color in the glass. The scent is almost majestic, reminiscent of small red berries and licorice. The taste is nicely balanced, clean and rich. Spicy and precise tannins give roundness and lightness in the finish.
