From the Fornace vineyard, located at around 400 meters altitude and characterized by calcareous gravel and pebbles. The vineyard name – which can be translated to “oven” – suggests a slightly warmer expression than the estate's other Brunello wines, yet without losing the freshness and precision that characterize Le Ragnaie.

The fruit is red and juicy with cherries at the center, accompanied by spicy and earthy nuances. The expression is slightly fuller and more open, with broader shoulders, yet still with lift, energy, and fine tannins that keep the wine upright and balanced.

This is a Brunello that combines immediacy with structure and aging potential – and which shows a slightly rounder side of Ragnaie's style, without compromising on elegance and terroir.

The 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Fornace is a spectacular way to close out the wines of 2020 from Le Ragnaie. Aromatic of grenadine, sweet balsamic herbs, leather, and licorice candies, the palate really sets itself apart, with fine tannins, mouthwatering, salted, ripe orange citrus, iron-rich earth, and a clean, stony, driving finish.
