Sagrantino is one of the world's most tannic grapes, and although this single-vineyard wine is wrapped in more elegance, it still has powerful tannins, full-bodied fruit, and a full 16 percent alcohol. That fullness and structure need to be matched by food with corresponding weight and richness, so that fat and protein can soften the tannins, while the tannins in turn cut through the richness. Therefore, choose juicy, grilled, and long-braised meats, ideally with a smoky or umami-rich dimension, and perhaps finish with a mature, hard cheese that can stand up to the power.

About the wine
Here from the field Campo alla Cerqua located 400 meters above sea level. South-east facing field of 0.8 ha planted in 1997.
The field is named after a large old oak tree that stands on the field.
This wine is definitely the most elegant of all three single vineyard wines. The first vintage of the wine was 2006.
After harvest and fermentation, the wine has been aged for 3 years in a large Garbelotto cask.
The wine still has big fruit and strong tannins, but here it is all wrapped up in greater elegance.
