About the wine
100% petit rouge, a local grape variety from Valle d’Aosta in northwestern Italy. Traditionally known as an important component of the region's red wines, here it reveals a completely different side of itself in a fresh and elegant rosé version.
In the glass, the wine presents a delicate pink color. The aroma is floral and inviting with notes of strawberry, cranberry, and white melon. The taste is fresh and lively with nuances of white peach, red berries, and a fine acidity that provides energy and balance. The finish is slightly salty and mineral, highlighting the wine's alpine origin.
An elegant and versatile rosé that works particularly well as a glass on the terrace or as an aperitif.
The grapes come from vineyards located about 700 meters above sea level near Aymavilles. Here, the vines grow on steep moraine soils with a high content of sand, granite, and stone. The cool alpine climate with short summers, large temperature differences between day and night, and constant ventilation helps preserve the grapes' freshness and aromatic intensity.
After hand-harvesting at the end of August, the whole clusters are gently pressed, after which the must undergoes a short cold maceration for three hours to extract the fine rosé color and delicate aromas. Fermentation takes place at low temperature in steel tanks, and the wine is subsequently aged for two months on the lees in steel and an additional two months in the bottle before release.
