This Syrah is powerful and full-bodied, yet at the same time silky-smooth with ripe, elegant tannins and a fine mineral freshness of graphite and slate. The ripe tannins and the full body call for fat and protein, so choose robust, grilled or slow-braised dishes, where the richness of the meat softens the tannins and meets the wine's intensity at eye level. The wild berries, tobacco and leather play up beautifully against spiced and slightly gamey meat, while the hint of dark chocolate and lavender gives you room for dishes with depth and grill character.
