This is an elegant Bordeaux blend from Tuscany with a medium to full body, fine ripe tannins and a long, mineral finish. The well-polished tannins settle down against rich, protein-packed dishes, where the fattiness softens the tannin structure, while the wine's wild fruit and power match the intensity of grilled and slow-braised meat. Stick to robust cooking methods such as roasting and braising, so wine and food become equal partners, and serve the wine at 17-18 degrees, so the tannins come across at their softest.

80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc.

After harvest, the grapes have been lying for approx. 18 months in barriques, new and once used.

The wine, like all other wines from Tua Rita, is elegant, and if you want strong booming basses, you should look elsewhere.

The wine has a certain power when young, but it is a wine with great potential. The nose is dominated by wild fruits. It is very mineral and has very fine elegant tannins. The finish on the wine is just long. A very big wine, which is not inferior to some of its cousins ​​from Bolgheri.

2018 is a very big vintage in Tuscany. A vintage that, in the right hands, produces very elegant and durable wines.

I had previously reviewed this blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Merlot in a preview capacity. Now on the market, the 2018 Giusto di Notri comes together with seamless beauty. This is a rich and generous expression that delivers dark fruit intensity with blackberry and black currant, wrapped tightly together with ample oak notes of spice, tar and cured tobacco. The wine offers smooth transition and rich textural fiber, with soft angles and contours that frame the wine's full-bodied approach. Production is 33,000 bottles.
