This Brunello has a full body, ripe but well-integrated tannins and a soft, long finish with notes of dark cherries, tobacco and chocolate. The classic route is rich, hearty proteins, where the meat's fat softens the tannins, while the wine's structure cuts through the richness and keeps the balance. The 36 months in large Slavonian casks give a rounded character that loves slow-braised meat and umami from aged cheeses. Serve it at 17-18 degrees, so the tannins come across as soft as possible.

About the wine

This Brunello di Montalcino is the latest addition to the line of high-quality wines from Castello Tricerchi. Tomasso has outdone himself with this full-bodied and elegant Brunello, just like the "regular" Brunello in its aroma, it has notes of black cherry and strawberry with a touch of tobacco and chocolate, but is more elegant and well-balanced in its expression. The taste is soft and lingers on the palate for a long time.

The vineyards, which consist of a mixture of clay and sand, lie at an altitude of 290 m with a south-westerly exposure. The age of the fields is approx. 25 years and yields a yield of 6 tonnes of grapes per hectare, or equivalent to approx. 1.5 kg. per plant. All picking takes place by hand and vinification takes place in stainless tanks at a controlled temperature of 23 degrees for 30 days. The malolactic fermentation continues for five months, after which the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels of 15-20 hectoliters for 36 months. The wines are then aged for at least 8 months in the bottle before release.

Only 2,700 bottles produced in this vintage.
