This Pinot Noir is medium-bodied with soft, silky tannins and a fresh acidity that carries the sun-ripened red and black berry fruit. The moderate tannin and smooth texture flatter dishes with mild richness and juicy meat without turning tight, while the acidity cuts through and keeps the mouth fresh. The fruit plays nicely against lightly earthy notes such as mushrooms and truffle, and the low tannin makes the wine unusually friendly toward cheese. Keep the dishes elegant rather than powerful, so wine and food remain equal partners.

About the wine

Les Cent Vignes is a Premier Cru classified vineyard in the AOC Beaune. Cent Vignes is located on the lower part of Burgundy's famous golden slope (Cote d'Or), which runs through the Beaune appellation. The field is a full 24 hectares and is known as one of the very best 1er Cru fields in all of Beaune. The field faces southeast and the subsoil is dominated by clay and sand. The Bitouzets own 1.26 hectares of vines here, which were planted in 1987 and 1988.‎

The wine from here has a pronounced aroma of red and black berries. The taste has all the finesse you could wish for. Sun-ripened red berries and fruits.

A very charming Pinot Noir with delicious typical soft tannins. Silky and fine with excellent balance.

Really good balance in price/quality for this wine.
