Gérard Mugneret Echezeaux Grand Cru 2022

Reduction presently dominates the underlying fruit though there is both excellent verve and freshness to the impressively concentrated medium weight flavors that exhibit focused power on the velvety, sneaky long, firm and balanced finale. This is an excellent Ech that should amply repay extended keeping; indeed it's going to need at least 7 to 8 years first as it's quite tightly wound today.

A fine mid crimson purple. The Echezeaux brings us back to the elegant lacy style. I keep resniffing the fascinating bouquet. There is a saltiness which comes out with the stems, but the very gentle lacy red fruit is refined and continues with excellent persistence.
