Istine Vigna Cavarchione Gran Selezione DOCG 2022

It is a rich and powerful wine, with all elements in perfect balance.
Filled with intense dark fruit, lavender, mocha, and dried herbs. Lots of energy and freshness.
The tannins are quite prominent in the young wine.

100% Sangiovese. Only the best grapes from the single vineyard Cavarchione, located near the small village of Vertine in Gaiole in Chianti. The vineyard is 6 hectares, with east/southeast exposure, situated 420 meters above sea level, and was planted in 2009 and 2010.
The soil is very rich in sediments with alternating marble/limestone/Galestro stone.
Only minimal leaf thinning is performed as the vineyard is exceptionally well-exposed.

Fermented for 20 days in concrete tanks at controlled temperature (max. 28°C)
Maceration with skin contact for 45 days in concrete tanks
Aged for 12 months in 20 hl/30 hl Slavonian oak barrels and almost 1 year of bottle aging before release.
