This Brunello is powerful, with ripe, silky-smooth tannins and a long, spicy finish, so it thrives best alongside rich, hearty dishes, where protein and fat soften the tannins and provide balance. Feel free to choose dark meat prepared over strong heat, such as grilling or slow braising, which matches the wine's body and intensity without letting either party dominate. The oriental spices and notes of tobacco play beautifully against dishes with deep, spicy sauces and against mature, aged cheeses, whose richness and umami tame the structure. Serve the wine at 17 to 18 degrees, so the tannins come across as soft and elegant as possible.

Critic reviews

Clear ruby with a pronounced garnet rim. Memorable nose with notes of tobacco, dark wild raspberries and some leather. On the palate, there is lots of texture, ripe berry fruit, opens up with finely meshed tannins in many layers, long finish.
