Vigna Loreto is a powerful Brunello with ripe yet silky tannins, high alcohol and a long, spicy finish, so it calls for robust dishes with plenty of protein and richness. The tannins are softened by fatty, chewy meat dishes, while the wine's oriental spices and tobacco notes play nicely off slow-roasted and braised meat. Serve it at 17-18 degrees, so the astringency is tempered and the elegance gets room to shine. Stay away from lean fish dishes and soft cheeses, which will dry out the tannins and seem metallic.

About the wine
Vigna Loreta is an elegant and complex Brunello di Montalcino - named after one of Mastrojanni's two properties in Montalcino.
The color is intense, deep ruby red The nose is appealing with oriental spices and notes of fresh tobacco.
The taste is potent from the start with ripe tannins. It ends with a long and powerful, but silky and elegant aftertaste.
A wine that should be enjoyed in good company to fully appreciate its elegance.
Aged for 36 months in Allier oak casks followed by six to eight months in bottle in Mastrojanni's cellar.

Clear ruby with a pronounced garnet rim. Memorable nose with notes of tobacco, dark wild raspberries and some leather. On the palate, there is lots of texture, ripe berry fruit, opens up with finely meshed tannins in many layers, long finish.
95Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
"Few producers were able to achieve this level of elegance in 2017".
