This Brunello Riserva is elegant and transparent, with finesse rather than weight, ripe sangiovese acidity, moderate but mature tannins and an aroma of red berries, earth and iron. It handles full-bodied, fatty proteins, where the fat softens the tannins, while the acidity cuts through and keeps the palate fresh. Preferably choose tender, long-braised food and umami-rich dishes that match the wine's depth without drowning out its many layers. The iron and earthy notes play beautifully against mushrooms, game and aged cheese.

About the wine

The king of Italian and Tuscan wines, Brunello di Montalcino is the perfect expression of sangiovese.

Lupi e Sirene has finesse, depth and elegance.

It is, in our opinion, one of the best Riserva Brunellos, and it already enjoys great elegance, complexity and accessibility.

The single-field vine Lupi e Sirene is, like many places on Etna, planted according to the old Albarello system, i.e. like bushes.

Compared to the fields in Galampio, there is a lot of granite in the subsoil.

A density of 11,111 plants per ha, which is one of the highest you see in regular wine production.

The grapes are harvested at the beginning of September and come from a single field close to the winery in Castelnuovo dell'Abate.

The wine has fermented for 50 days in large open oak casks, after which it has been left for 42 months in large casks in the cellar, followed by a minimum of 16 months in the bottle before being released.

The wine is beautifully light in color and shows the typical transparent sangiovese.

It has a very elegant aroma of red fruits and berries, complemented by notes of earth and iron. The wine continues to offer new layers of flavor for many minutes.

A Brunello like no other Brunello.

Finessenreiche Nase mit Aromen von Herzkirschen und Gewürzen. Am Gaumen körperreich, elegant und geschmeidig, mit feinen Noten von Johannisbeeren.
Dark, shiny ruby red. Inviting nose of dark cherries, rich forest fruits, some leather, graphite and candle wax. Present on the palate, accessible and polished, with superbly developed fruit and fine earthy tannins
