This Chianti Classico Riserva is a classic Sangiovese with a medium-bodied frame, moderate but ripe tannins and a fresh, balanced acidity, where the oak lends structure without drowning out the grape's finesse. The tannins thrive on fat and protein, while the acidity cuts through the richness and keeps the palate fresh, so you get the most out of dishes with a bit of meat on them and a tomato-based or herb-rich core. Aim for robust but not overwhelming dishes, so that wine and food meet each other at the same intensity. Ripe Tuscan classics like pasta with meat sauce, grilled lamb and aged cheese hit the mark perfectly.

About the wine

A wine that highlights the importance of the Sangiovese grape in the most beautiful way, while maintaining its graceful elegance.

This wine has been a staple since 1975 and its style has remained unchanged over the years. The grape's aromatic refinement is sublimely accompanied - but never drowned out - by the finest oak,

A careful and long-term vinification ensures the highest quality!
Only the best grapes are used for the Riserva. After careful selection in the vineyard and on the vibrating sorting table, the grapes ferment in cement. The must is kept at a controlled temperature, partly using dry ice, for the first four to five days before spontaneous fermentation begins. After fermentation, the must incl. skins for another ten days before being transferred to a large Grenier oak cask.
Here the Chianti Classico Riserva spends 22 months before being returned to the cement tank for stabilization and natural clarification. After the stabilization period, the wine is bottled and matured for a further three months before being released.

Absolutely stunning, this red features ripe, juicy black cherry, blackberry, violet and mineral aromas and flavors. Well-defined and persists on the layered and fruit-stained aftertaste. Shows excellent harmony and length. Best from 2027 through 2045.

Black cherry and violet aromas with hints of lemon peel. Crushed stone as well. Medium body, well integrated tannins and a creamy texture of lovely tannins and fruit.
