This Sangiovese is juicy, fresh and elegant with plenty of red berries, high acidity and silky-smooth tannins. The fresh acidity cuts through richness and the tartness of tomato, while the soft, ripe tannins have body enough for lighter meat and mushroom dishes without overpowering the dish. Stick to dishes of medium intensity, ideally with a touch of herbal and mineral character, so the wine's elegance is given room.

About the wine

Sangiovese from 15-year-old vines.

From Poggioferro on the northwest slope of the old volcano Monte Amiata at 600 meters altitude.

The soil is marl - very calcareous clay, enriched by limestone and minerals from the volcano. 3.5 HA.

Spontaneous fermentation. Foot pressing, 20% whole bunches of grapes.

Made of stainless steel.

Total production is 12,000 bottles in this vintage.

Juicy, fresh and elegant, with lots of red berries. Mineral with silky tannins.
