Berry-fresh Barbera in elegant balance
100% Barbera from younger vineyards around Perno in Monforte d'Alba in the heart of the Barolo area. The vineyards have a southeast exposure and soil characterized by sand and clay.
The color is a beautiful ruby red, and the aroma offers an intense and characteristic bouquet with flowers, cherries, raspberries, and other fresh red berries.
The taste is juicy and full of fruit with Barbera's characteristic, lively acidity, which gives the wine freshness and elegant balance.
The 2024 vintage maintains just 12.5% alcohol, contributing to the wine's light, energetic, and very drinkable expression.
It is also an excellent food wine. The lively acidity and fresh fruit make it suitable for a wide range of flavorful dishes—such as charcuterie, pasta with tomato-based sauces, pizza, veal, and classic Northern Italian dishes. Serve it slightly chilled at around 14-16 °C.
The grapes are destemmed but not crushed and undergo 10-15 days of natural fermentation with skin contact in stainless steel tanks. At Ca' di Press, they consciously choose not to influence their Barbera with wood, instead allowing the grape's fruit, freshness, and character to stand as purely as possible.
After fermentation, the wine is naturally stabilized in the tank without fining or filtering. It is then matured for 8 months in stainless steel tanks and an additional 9 months in the bottle before release. This results in a pure and authentic Barbera, where the juicy fruit and fresh acidity are allowed to take center stage.
Only 3,000 bottles and 100 magnums of the 2024 vintage have been produced.
