Castello Tricerchi Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2023

This delightful Rosso could easily be mistaken for a Brunello if served blind. The quality is truly high!

The aroma offers fruity notes of cherry and strawberry, with a hint of black pepper.

The taste is warm and soft with elegant tannins. The aftertaste is mineral, long, and incredibly flavorful. Pairs perfectly with pasta dishes and lighter meats.

The Vigna Camponovo and Vigna dei Piani vineyards, dedicated to Rosso di Montalcino, consist of a mix of clay and sand, situated at an altitude of 250 m with a southwest exposure. The vines are 30 years old.

The harvest took place on the 13th and 14th of September 2022. All picking is done by hand. Vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 23 degrees for 20 days. About 20% of the grapes are fermented in whole clusters, with partial carbonic maceration.

The wine is then aged in large Slavonian oak barrels of 20 hectoliters for at least 6 months and at least 4 months in the bottle before release.
