This is a tight and complex Volnay with medium body, fresh acidity and fine, stony tannins, and it rewards patience both in the glass and on the plate. At the same time, Pinot Noir is the most cheese-loving red wine, and the acidity plus the earthy mineral tones make it perfect for aged cheeses and dishes with truffle and mushroom.
