This Chapelle-Chambertin has a medium body, moderate but well-defined tannins and a bright, fresh acidity that makes room for dishes of finesse rather than power. The ripe cherries, forest floor and oriental spices resonate beautifully with umami and a touch of earthiness in the food, while the acidity cuts through richness and lifts mildly spiced fare. Aim for poultry and game, mushroom dishes and lighter meats, where the wine's elegant structure is allowed to be an equal partner without being run over.

About the wine
The Chapelle-Chambertin plot is located at the foot of Chambertin-Clos de Bèze. The domain's parcel and amounts to 0.52 ha.
The wine is matured in oak barrels (80% new barrels) from the Allier and Nivernais regions with a medium roast. The result is a restrained and harmonious taste.
The scent almost radiates with ripe cherries, woody vanilla and flowers.
Flavors of seductive red berry fruit, forest floor and oriental spices. A beautiful balance between tannins and acidity, which leads the wine into a long, delicious finish.
Finally, let it rest on the wine shelf for a few years. The wine is great now, but the potential is even greater.

Vinous
The 2021 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a nuanced bouquet with red berries, briar and bay leaf, a pinch of brown spice emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid red fruit on the entry, brittle tannins and touches of Earl Grey infusing the red berry fruit.
