This Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru is a richer and fuller Pinot Noir with plenty of ripe tannins and the earthy, umami-driven character that only Old World wines can offer. That's why it thrives with dishes where meat, mushrooms and truffle lend depth and earthy tones that mirror the wine's own profile. The ripe tannins need a little fat and protein to grip onto, so choose tender poultry, game or dishes with a rich, deep sauce. A splash of acidity in the wine keeps dishes with a bit of fat fresh and in balance at the same time.

About the wine
This wine is from an exceptional parcel with an ideal southeast location. It is next to Roncières, but the soil is different. It is rocky with a little more clay. These differences can be felt in the wine. It is richer and fuller with plenty of ripe tannins. It often needs 10 years to open up and can be stored for at least 30 years.Critic reviews

Burghound
A more deeply pitched and decidedly earthier nose features aromas of plum, forest floor and plenty of sauvage character. There is excellent vibrancy to the bigger-bodied and more powerful flavors that possess a succulent mid-palate that contrasts moderately with the robust, mildly rustic and sneaky long finish. This is excellent with the development potential to match.

Vinous
The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru is more backward on the nose compared to Grivot's other wines from the appellation. Its bouquet features dark berry fruit, earthy tones and a touch of ceps.
