This Brunello has a bright, springy sangiovese character with fine, well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity, so it won't overpower the food, but meets it in intensity. The moderate tannins get the most out of dishes with a little fat and juicy protein, where the fat softens the tannin, while the bright cherry and cranberry fruit and the discreet spicy note of pink peppercorn match Tuscan classics. The acidity cuts through mushrooms, hard cheese and charcuterie and keeps the whole thing fresh, so you get both structure and drinking pleasure at the table.

About the wine

From the estate's vineyards in Ragnaie, Petroso, Loreto, Fornace, and Cava.

The 2020 vintage was characterized by warmth, but at Le Ragnaie, the wines have retained their lightness and vibrancy, without the fruit becoming heavy.

The aroma and taste revolve around bright cherry fruit, cranberries, and fine floral notes with a discreet spicy touch of pink pepper. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, and the overall impression is complex without being strenuous. The finish is soft and pleasant – more immediate than the 2019 vintage, yet still with enough structure for several years of development.

The wine is fermented with natural yeast in concrete and has undergone long maceration before aging for 36 months in large Slavonian botti. It is a Brunello that already offers great drinking pleasure and can easily be stored for a good handful of years to come.
