This Chardonnay has a full but well-trimmed body, where a subtle creamy structure from barrel aging and malolactic fermentation meets a fresh, mineral acidity. That makes it a fine companion for fish and shellfish in creamy or butter-based preparations, where the body matches the richness and the acidity lifts and cleanses the palate. The yellow fruit notes and the light oak character also suit poultry and root vegetables, while the crisp acidity pairs beautifully with fresh goat cheeses and triple-cream cheeses. Choose dishes with subtle elegance rather than the very powerful ones, so the wine's finesse is given room.

About the wine

A true pleasure cuvée.

Elegant and well-balanced Chardonnay from Santenay, combining finesse and complexity.

The aroma is full of fruit, especially yellow fruits. Notes of white flowers.

The taste is delightfully mineral and fresh, with good balance to the fruit.

A subtle creamy structure and a persistent mineral aftertaste that provides a refreshing finish.

The vines were planted in 1990 and 2005, covering 1.57 hectares. The vineyard is located near the village of Chassagne Montrachet on an east-facing, gentle slope. It is only 20 meters below the Premier Cru vineyard Morgeot, Chassagne.

The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo gentle pressing. The must is lightly clarified before being transferred to 350-liter barrels, where alcoholic fermentation takes place with natural yeast. Subsequently, the wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation during the winter months and matures for 10 months in barrels, one-third of which are new. Finally, the wine is blended to ensure a harmonious whole.

Enjoy this fine Chardonnay in large glasses without too much chilling.
